Located
in Mwanza, Mwamba House supports orphans and disadvantaged families by
running a Family Food Program, providing classes for children, and once
construction of the buildings are complete, will be running a community
centre in the Mahina area of Mwanza.
Volunteers are needed for a variety of tasks including teaching, building, fundraising, and providing general support and encouragement to the children. For more information about Mwamba House, visit www.mwambahouse.org Established in January of 2007, an orphanage was opened in the Lukobe region of Mwanza by a Canadian woman with the support of the Hisani Centre for Women and Children. There are approximately 27 children living at the Lukobe orphanage, some of whom have just started attending school for the first time. Volunteers are needed for a variety of tasks including teaching, building, fundraising and agriculture.

HISANI CENTRE
The
Hisani Center for Women and Children's Rights is located in Buswelu,
Mwanza, and has been in operation since 1999. Hisani currently
houses 54 children in the Buswelu orphanage, and also provides support,
education and counselling for the women and children in the local
community. WAMATO Wamato
is an education and health centre for disadvantaged children living in
Dar es Salaam. Established in 1997, Wamato operates in the
Kinondoni District and works with poor communities, particularly women
and children to help improve their social and economic well being. IMANI VOCATIONAL SCHOOL Located about 25 bumpy kilometres from Moshi, Tanzania, Imani Vocational School is an oasis of education, compation and industry. Under the guidance of Sister Placida, this humble school has made itself into a model of sustainable development in Tanzania. Volunteers are welcomed as part of the team and will rarely find nothing to do as on the small property there is a primary school, vocational school, dormatory, drip irrigation agricultural project, two tilapia ponds, a grain mill and a piggery.
