There's a first time for everything...

For the full African experience and the adventure of a lifetime, we recommend joining an Adventure group on a whirlwind tour that includes volunteering, cultural tourism and the all important wildlife safari.  Each Adventure is different depending on a number of factors including weather conditions and political climate but most will have a similar itinerary to the one below.

Day one – Depart country of origin

Day two – Transfer planes in Amsterdam/Paris/London (if coming from North America). Arrive in Nairobi, Kenya.  Visit wildlife orphanage and view baby elephants, giraffes, rhinos, etc. Board bus to Mwanza.

Day three – Arrive Mwanza, spend 2 hours in town – internet and shopping. 1 hour drive to Lukobe Village, set up camp, Swahili Lessons

Day four – Site orientation, play time with Lukobe Kids,  prep work for 6 day construction project.

Day five – Day twelve – Construction project, village tour, Swahili lessons, play time with kids.

Day thirteen – Bus trip to Moshi.

Day fourteen – Moshi city tour, internet and interaction with local artists group

Day fifteen – Free day in Moshi, day hikes to Kilimanjaro waterfalls or “monkey jungles” available.

Day sixteen – Day twenty – Stay at Imani Vocational school in Chekareni village.  Various daily activities depending on individual’s skill set.  Activities include setting up the computer lab, working with the builders laying or making bricks, carpentry or painting work, teaching English classes in the primary school, assisting the gardener in the drip irrigation fields, and one on one time with disabled students.

Day twenty one – Travel to Arusha by coaster bus.  Camp at local backpackers favourite, Masaai Camp.  African drumming workshop.  Opportunity to join in the daily dance party at night.

Days twenty two – Day twenty six – four day camping wildlife safari through Serengetti, Ngorongoro Crater, Lake Manyara, or Tarangire.

Day twenty seven – Take shuttle bus to Nairobi, board plane home.

Day twenty eight or twenty nine – Arrive home exhausted with a million stories, a thousand lasting memories, a hundred ideas and a bunch of new friends.

Cost: $2100 CAD

Duration: Four weeks

Size of Traveling Group: 5-10 participants

Included in package: Food, Accomodation, Domestic Travel

Not included in package: Airfare, travel insurance, medical expenses, visas, spending money

You will be accompanied by a Canadian guide for the duration of the trip.
